3 Things Covid Taught Me

April 2021 brought an unforeseen event that I couldn’t have possibly prepared for. None of us could have, whoever has or had Covid with this variant.

However, there’s always something positive to look at. Here are 3 things I became more mindful and aware of:

1. Gratitude

I am an ardent follower of The Secret and having gratitude helps me so much. It was during this time though that I truly understood its meaning.

For the longest time, I’d stop and admire the little things of life – a blooming flower, birds in the sky, a picturesque sunset. However, that was only for a fleeting moment because there was always something else that needed attention. Another meeting, call or multi-tasking. Busy, in other words.

This time helped me slow down and truly be grateful about things we usually consider ‘given’. Air, water, our health and countless other blessings.

It’s amazing how our lives are filled with abundance we didn’t even realise we had.

2. Helping Hands

When was the last time we saw that we have kind and caring strangers, acquaintances, friends and family who will go out of their way to help us on our journey?

The keenness to help is astounding, both giving and receiving. Even a simple message to checkin for health or ask if we need anything.

And I realised how beautifully united we can all be. I’m blessed to always have support and love, and I will continue to give it forward.

3. Inner Strength

I’m a strong person. I know that. Not loud but quiet kind.

This phase brought to light a whole new level of mental and emotional strength required to recover, heal and help all including myself.

Our bodies have the capacity to self heal. I’ve read amazing stories that substantiate this.

And while medicine definitely has its place and plays a huge role, it’s the unwavering faith in our health and healing that helps us be stronger.

We owe it to ourselves. Our existence and everything we have received to overcome adversity with courage.

And on this note, I hope everyone is well and healthy. Stay safe; we are strong and will get through this.
