Searching Outward, Looking Inward

How often have we found ourselves searching outward for answers? In situations, circumstances, people — just about anything except ourselves.

Plenty of times, right?

And how often have we actually found the answer this way?

Any guesses :)

I know from my experience that any delay, frustration, or disappointment caused by a prolonged situation happens because I’m not looking in the right place — inward.

There is no right answer out there for our lives. We can search, discuss, debate, and wonder with our loved ones about ‘the next step’ to improve a situation. But all the inputs received are basis their experiences or understanding of you.

And to be honest, it might not be what’s best for you. In the best interest, yes. But maybe not what will help you be at peace in the long run so you can look back and know you made the right choice.

Only you can arrive at that answer. And that can take days, even years.

We are humans after all, and our paths are unique. There is no right time to make the right choice.

Sometimes we wing it, and other times we learn the hard way.

The one thing that’s guaranteed though is once you do turn inward, the decision you will make is one of confidence and immense inner power.

It might break you at that moment or leave you wondering ‘what now’ but there’s a small voice within that will tell you — you’re doing the right thing for yourself.

And that will be the source of strength and peace for years to come.
